Hands-on and site-base learning

JPEC values hands-on and site-based learning.  We expect our falcons to participate in three forms of fieldwork over their time with us.  Job shadowing, internships, and extended site-based learning.  Our College Prep students are expected to participate in career exploration, investigating careers of interest.

Transitioning from College Prep to Early College

Students transitioning from College Prep to Early College are focusing on job shadowing, spending more time on-site learning about careers aligned to their program pathway and becoming more career focused.  During job shadowing students should be spending time on-site interviewing individuals in that career field and determining necessary skills to be successful.

Through these three forms of fieldwork, students log and document their hours which go towards their 100 hours of community service graduation requirement.
